TL;DR
Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (Aerospace Manufacturing): Leading manufacturing operations across metal fabrication, assembly, and testing with an accent on safety, quality, resource planning, and lean continuous improvement. Focus on reviewing KPIs, solving root-cause issues, aligning customer demand with production capacity, and developing production teams.

Location: Auburn, California, United States; on-site 2nd shift from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM

Salary: $100,600–$131,300 per year, plus a 10% shift differential

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including engineered flow-control products and pumps.

What you will do

  • Lead and direct production employees across metal fabrication, assembly, and/or test operations.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including standard work, 5S, and material replenishment.
  • Review daily KPIs and lead structured problem-solving using 8 Step, 5 Why, and Fishbone methods.
  • Manage staffing, resource allocation, overtime, productivity input, and labor planning against customer demand.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, uphold quality standards, and process non-conforming materials to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Coach and develop employees while supporting business growth and production objectives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience and 5 years of experience with lathes, grinding, or machine-shop operations.
  • Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing and manufacturing-based continuous improvement practices.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally and present to groups of varying sizes.
  • Ability to use data to determine root causes and develop focused corrective actions.
  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. Only US Persons will be considered where access to ITAR-controlled data or information is required.
