What you will do
- Manage small to medium environmental planning, permitting, and licensing projects.
- Support biological field surveys, including wetland and waterbody delineations, habitat assessments, wildlife and plant surveys, and breeding bird and raptor surveys.
- Prepare field survey reports, technical reports, correspondence, critical issues analyses, and effects determinations.
- Support federal, state, and local permit applications and consult with regulatory agencies on project compliance.
- Direct field staff during medium to large field mobilizations.
- Contribute to projects involving pipelines, transportation, electrical transmission, renewable energy generation and storage, and oil and gas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of post-degree experience in relevant environmental or biological work.
- Knowledge of federal environmental compliance and permitting regulations, including FERC, USACE, USFWS, and EPA requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable state environmental compliance and permitting regulations.
- Strong prioritization, organization, verbal communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
Nice to have
- Experience preparing NEPA documents or FERC Resource Reports.
- Certified Professional Wetland Scientist, Certified Wildlife Biologist, or Project Management Professional certification.
