Scientist II (Environmental)

What you will do

• Manage and execute environmental permitting activities, with a strong focus on proposal preparation and project planning.
• Conduct flora and fauna surveys, including surveys for federally and territorially protected species using methods accepted by USFWS and DAWR.
• Perform wetland delineations in tropical freshwater and estuarine environments.
• Supervise natural resource field studies and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
• Review and interpret natural resources data and apply findings to species management.
• Prepare environmental reports and provide NEPA support.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Ecology, or a related natural resources field.
• Five to ten years of experience on Guam.
• Understanding of natural resources and environmental permitting in the Marianas region and/or coastal settings.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments, including outdoors in variable weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass required drug, alcohol, and physical examinations.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.

• Strong attention to detail when following safety and work plans, collecting data, and preparing reports.
• Ability to obtain access to military installations.
