Staff Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: 100% onsite Monday through Friday in Palm Bay, Florida

What you will do

• Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain occupational and environmental health and safety programs and policies.
• Serve as the site subject matter expert and advise management on OEHS matters for a 370-employee manufacturing facility.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDEP, USNRC, and DHS requirements, including written plans, licenses, permits, and regulatory reports.
• Recognize workplace hazards, evaluate exposures, define control measures, and conduct environmental inspections.
• Lead audits, accident and incident investigations, corrective actions, OEHS training, and emergency response planning.
• Manage hazardous waste operations, chemical approvals, radioactive materials licenses, air permits, and capital OEHS projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in applied science, occupational and environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, public health, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of OEHS experience, including strong knowledge of FDEP, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• US citizenship and current authorization to work full-time in the United States are required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Nice to have

• At least 3 years of OEHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CIH or CSP certification.
• Experience with ISO OEHS standards, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
