TL;DR
Avionics Integration Engineer (F-15) (Avionics/Radar): Developing, integrating, testing, and certifying avionics hardware and software for the F-15 program with an accent on radar systems, aircraft interfaces, and airworthiness requirements. Focus on systems analysis, digital signal processing, electronic warfare environments, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and foreign military sales compliance.

Location: Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; 10–25% travel required

What you will do

  • Develop, review, and update avionics requirements, subsystem specifications, and engineering documentation for milestone reviews.
  • Lead development, integration, and testing of avionics hardware and software within the F-15 system architecture.
  • Support ground and flight testing, hardware-in-the-loop activities, subsystem integration laboratories, developmental testing, and operational testing.
  • Conduct system analyses, architecture trade studies, risk assessments, and evaluations of avionics interfaces, data buses, radar systems, and aircraft subsystems.
  • Develop radar performance test plans and reports, including analysis of targets, clutter, weather, electromagnetic interference, electronic countermeasures, and signal processing.
  • Support AIMS, spectrum management, CNS/ATM, airworthiness certification, and FMS acquisition activities.

Requirements

  • ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
  • 20 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 10 years of experience with a master’s degree.
  • Advanced knowledge of the relevant technical or professional discipline and the ability to work independently on mission-critical activities.
  • Ability to perform tasks and oversee the work of junior and journeyman contractor personnel.
  • SECRET security clearance required.
  • Knowledge of avionics engineering, radar theory, systems integration, verification, testing, and airworthiness certification.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ITAR, foreign disclosure, Congressional notification, and RIP/RIS approval processes.
  • Experience with FMS programs, LOA and P&A documentation, export licenses, security assistance policies, and DoD acquisition processes.
