TL;DR
Associate Systems Engineer (Avionics): Developing and validating certified surveillance avionics systems for commercial, military, and rotorcraft platforms with an accent on systems specifications, modeling, and system-level testing. Focus on executing flight and system tests, analyzing results, and integrating solutions across software, hardware, customers, suppliers, and program teams.

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States; on-site

Designs, engineers, and manufactures certified avionics systems for safety-critical flight operations across commercial and military aviation, including TCAS, Mode S transponders, ADS-B, and integrated surveillance solutions.

What you will do

  • Develop system designs, write systems specifications, and support modeling development.
  • Develop system-level test procedures and scripts, execute tests, analyze results, and support modeling tests.
  • Assist with flight tests and analyze flight-test results.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, software and hardware engineering, project leads, program management, and customer support.
  • Maintain and improve engineering processes and assist with product design, testing, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 0–2 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience writing systems requirements, developing systems validation procedures, and developing and executing system tests.
  • Knowledge of ARP-4754A and DO-178 processes.
  • Ability to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ.

Nice to have

  • Experience with automation.
  • Familiarity with TCAS, transponders, ADS-B, and terrain awareness and avoidance systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, initiative, leadership, and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple teams and customers.
