TL;DR
East Coast Port Engineer (Radar): Supporting the AN/SPY-6 Radar program through shipboard engineering, logistics support, system integration, testing, and fleet problem resolution with an accent on radar activation, maintenance troubleshooting, and technical documentation. Focus on coordinating shipboard test and evaluation events, analyzing system performance, and improving fleet readiness across Navy assets.

Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States; waterfront duties in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area with up to 25% travel.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Support the AN/SPY-6 Radar program through in-service engineering and test and evaluation activities.
  • Coordinate radar activation, shipboard testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, modernization, and system integration.
  • Lead or independently coordinate project personnel during radar performance testing, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Investigate fleet technical problems and develop solutions through research, testing, documentation, and configuration control.
  • Assist ship crews with equipment diagnostics, maintenance, logistics support, training, and CNO events.
  • Review and develop technical manuals, maintenance procedures, test plans, reports, and ship change documentation.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance.
  • At least 10 years of experience providing logistics support for naval shipboard systems.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and support shipboard test and evaluation events.
  • Knowledge of radar and weapon systems, electronics testing, and technical schematics or drawings.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Nice to have

  • Experience with radar and weapon systems.
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronics engineering practices for building, repairing, testing, or evaluating weapon systems.
  • Experience with weapon system operations, integration processes, technical products, and services.
