Technical Specialist, Strategic Resolution Group (Insurance Claims)

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States

Annual base salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentives.

What you will do

• Handle moderate to large exposure toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct, and environmental claims.
• Research policies issued by legacy companies, analyze coverage, and communicate coverage positions to policyholders or their representatives.
• Investigate liability, evaluate damages, apply relevant legal concepts, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
• Develop litigation and file management strategies, including counsel and expert selection, settlement terms, mediations, trials, and loss adjustment expense management.
• Estimate claim and account exposures, prepare budgets, and maintain defense and indemnity reserves.
• Maintain accurate claim files and systems, coordinate account reporting, and support training, mentoring, and interviewing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; a high school diploma or GED is required at minimum.
• At least 3 years of experience in claim handling, legal, insurance, coverage advice, or environmental fields; 2 years is the stated minimum requirement.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking, judgment, decision-making, communication, teamwork, accountability, customer focus, and relationship management.
• Knowledge of regulatory and claim environments, departmental practices, planning, organization, technology, and independent work.
• Insurance license(s) may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting the job.
