Desk Homeowners Claim Representative II

Location: Remote within the USA; preferred residence within a 50-mile radius of Tampa, Florida. Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST. Occasional travel for meetings, collaboration, team activities, inspections, or other business needs may be required.

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual company bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Manage homeowners claims from assignment through investigation, resolution, and closure.
• Contact insureds and other affected parties, set claim expectations, and document claim activity.
• Analyze policy coverage, provisions, exclusions, applicable state law, benefits, and recovery potential.
• Evaluate property damage, repair estimates, and financial loss values; approve appropriate payments.
• Negotiate settlements, create sub-claims, and refer complex cases to management or specialized units.
• Coordinate with underwriting, recovery, special investigation, contractors, and other internal partners.

Requirements

• Completion of the ACG Claim Representative Training Program or equivalent knowledge or experience.
• At least one year of experience negotiating claim settlements, evaluating evidence and estimates, resolving coverage questions, handling subrogation claims, taking statements, and establishing claim resolution plans.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a state adjuster’s license within 90 days of hire where required.
• Knowledge of claims regulations, subrogation procedures, intercompany arbitration, and building construction and repair techniques.
• Strong negotiation, communication, customer service, analytical, decision-making, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to travel outside the assigned territory, potentially overnight, and to work evenings or weekends when required.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Insurance Institute of America General Insurance Program or Associate in Claims designation.
• Xactimate experience and knowledge of full-cycle claim handling.
• Active Florida adjuster’s license.
• Call center or queue-calling experience and excellent customer service and communication skills.
