Claim Specialist III - Management Specialty Lines (Insurance)

Location: New York, New York — 1 Battery Park Plaza; onsite in a normal office environment

Salary: $55,700–$103,500 annually. Expected starting range: $55,700–$83,500 annually.

What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, damages, reserves, and settlement strategies for low-severity claims.
• Handle management liability and specialty lines claims, including errors and omissions, directors and officers, and employment practices liability.
• Analyze policy coverage and develop claim resolution strategies within approved authority.
• Negotiate resolutions and deliver effective service to insureds, agents, and legal counsel.
• Provide claims trend feedback and input to underwriters on insureds' claim experience.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance regulations, court decisions, policy changes, and applicable professional lines.

Requirements

• College degree preferred; Juris Doctorate desired.
• Postgraduate education, claims handling experience, or comparable job-related experience.
• Basic knowledge of professional lines insurance and litigation.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Required federal and/or state licenses or registrations must be obtained within the designated period.
• A valid credit check and background check are required as part of the selection process.
