Outside Property Technical Specialist

Location: 100% remote, based in the United States; may include mobile work and work from the primary residence. Catastrophe deployments may require travel to other states for a minimum of 16 days.

Annual base salary: $81,500–$134,500, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentives and a sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Handle high-severity and complex first-party property claims for personal and business insurance customers.
• Inspect loss sites, document damage, prepare scopes and estimates, and evaluate actual cash value and replacement value.
• Investigate coverage, damages, business interruption calculations, liability, contracts, leases, and other relevant documentation.
• Set reserves, validate contractor and independent adjuster estimates, negotiate settlements, and prepare complex claim correspondence.
• Manage claim inventories and files through timely resolution while meeting quality standards and state-specific regulations.
• Provide technical consulting, mentoring, and coaching; participate in legal proceedings and catastrophe response deployments as needed.

Requirements

• At least three years of personal or business property claim-handling experience.
• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
• Advanced investigative, analytical, decision-making, negotiation, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• General knowledge of Xactimate; ability to work independently and determine coverage, evaluate damages, and resolve claims within settlement authority.
• Ability to access and inspect structures, carry and set up a 38–49-pound ladder, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces during catastrophe deployments.

Nice to have

• Insurance license or UAS Remote Pilot Certification, as required for the role.
