Field Claims Representative

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States. Initial training is in person; afterward, the role may allow working from home up to five days per week. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

What you will do

• Investigate and assemble facts throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and analyze legal liability.
• Handle multiline claims in an assigned territory, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Resolve claims and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when necessary.
• Ensure claim payments are issued accurately and on time.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on site.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims.
• At least three years of experience handling multiline property claims, with an emphasis on property claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to organize and interpret data, manage multiple assignments, and work effectively with diverse groups.
• Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems involving geometry, sums, unit costs, and financial documents.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to drive, and a driving record meeting underwriting guidelines.

• Field claims handling experience.
• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
