Lead Engineer- Data Solutions (Datacenter Cooling): Designing and launching cooling products for data centers from component selection and thermal analysis through prototyping, testing, and production with an accent on heat transfer, fluid flow, manufacturability, and product compliance. Focus on optimizing mechanical designs, analyzing competitor gaps, coordinating multidisciplinary NPI activities, and validating products through laboratory and third-party testing.

What you will do
- Apply thermal, hydraulic, sheet metal, and weldment design expertise to develop data center cooling products.
- Own product design, including component selection, sizing, cost optimization, and benchmarking against competitor solutions.
- Collaborate with designers, operations, manufacturing, quality, supply, sales, marketing, customers, and global stakeholders.
- Take products from market specifications through prototype development, NPI stage gates, and production launch.
- Lead hands-on prototyping and coordinate laboratory, regulatory, and third-party testing.
- Work with vendors and engineering leaders to define project scope, timelines, purchased-part requirements, and related technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably designing data center cooling products.
- Strong knowledge of data center ecosystems, cooling solutions, thermal engineering, heat transfer, fluid flow, and design optimization.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, UL, international product-compliance standards, piping, P&ID, hydraulic networks, and schematic diagrams.
- Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal design, manufacturing processes, DFM, DFMEA, 8D/RCCM, and NPI stage-gate processes.
- Ability to design components and assemblies with 3D CAD systems such as SolidWorks.
