Staff Thermal Design Engineer

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States; onsite

What you will do

• Create CFD and numerical models to analyze system thermal performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept and prototyping through production and engineering release.
• Optimize server thermal performance, airflow paths, fan control, and cooling efficiency using empirical data and bench testing.
• Develop and execute test plans for hardware and thermal technologies, including liquid-cooling components.
• Manage the full lifecycle of key thermal components and drive projects through product release.
• Resolve thermal and airflow issues, prepare engineering documentation, and support manufacturing, procurement, vendors, and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of related experience with system-level server platforms and electronics cooling.
• Strong background in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermal design, and thermal solution troubleshooting.
• CAD experience with Creo or SolidWorks and CFD experience with FloTHERM or Icepak.
• Hands-on laboratory testing experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and data analysis.
• Experience creating automated test infrastructure with LabVIEW and Python, plus strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and project management skills.
