Enrollment Specialist - Financial Aid Advisor III (Financial Aid)

Location: On-site in McAllen, Texas, United States; occasional travel and availability to work weekends, holidays, and outside regular business hours are required.

Salary: $52,000 annually; proposed minimum salary of $4,333.34 monthly.

What you will do

• Advise current and prospective students, parents, colleges, and departments on scholarships, grants, loans, student employment, financial counseling, and military education benefits.
• Review student files, exercise professional judgment, adjust aid awards, and evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals.
• Process veteran and Hazlewood benefits and serve as the VA Certifying Official for TAMU McAllen.
• Answer questions about student accounts, bills, late fee waivers, collections, incidents, and ID card administration.
• Interpret and maintain current federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Develop presentations, seminars, consumer information materials, production calendars, and financial aid website updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in financial aid, scholarships, student veterans services, student employment, student services, or a related area.
• Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, exercise judgment, and provide professional customer service.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products and financial aid or student information systems.
• Must be in good standing on all federal student loans and maintain that status for continued employment.
• Must be literate in English and able to understand, give, and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Bilingual Spanish skills.
• Experience in enrollment management, outreach, or retention.
