TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer IV (Aerospace): Designing and developing aerospace and electronics products with an accent on mechanical engineering principles, electronics packaging, manufacturability, and product reliability. Focus on generating 3D models, conducting numerical analyses and design experiments, validating test results, and resolving complex technical challenges within an Integrated Product Team.

Location: Lynnwood, Washington, United States; standard office and manufacturing environment with occasional domestic and international travel of up to 10%. Where controlled data or information access is required, only US Persons will be considered under ITAR requirements.

Salary: $150,800–$177,400 per year, with some roles potentially eligible for performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

  • Research, plan, design, and develop aerospace and electronics products of complex technical scope.
  • Define and decompose product and process requirements for product development, sustaining, and R&D activities.
  • Generate 3D models, conduct engineering analyses, perform design experiments, and evaluate test results.
  • Build performance, quality, reliability, cost, and manufacturability into product designs while following company and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify root causes and corrective actions for technical challenges using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and business disciplines within Integrated Product Teams; mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • BA or BS degree in an engineering discipline; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanics of materials, shock, vibration, heat transfer, and dimensional tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of electronics packaging.
  • Proficiency with mechanical 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor and familiarity with numerical analysis software.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for technical reports, presentations, analyses, and other communications.
