TL;DR

Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and qualifying fluid delivery and pressurized gas systems for satellite hardware with an accent on end-to-end subsystem ownership. Focus on simulating flow regimes, developing ground testing infrastructure, and implementing flow control logic for spaceflight environments.

Location: On-site in Burlingame, CA. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual

Salary: $150,000 – $175,000 + Equity

What you will do

  • Design and simulate fluid delivery systems across high pressure to free molecular flow regimes.
  • Select, specify, and qualify spaceflight components including valves, transducers, and regulators.
  • Develop ground testing infrastructure and safety-critical containment hardware for high-pressure operations.
  • Specify and implement flow control logic, valve sequencing, and fault protection.
  • Develop automation software for system control and ground test operations.
  • Manage CAD models, drawings, and BOMs while ensuring compliance with DOT certification standards.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience designing fluid or gas delivery systems in aerospace or semiconductor industries.
  • Experience with pressurized system design, leak detection, and proof/burst testing.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card) required for export regulations.
  • Ability to work onsite in Burlingame, CA.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with high vacuum systems and vacuum-compatible materials.
  • Experience with Python or LabVIEW for fluid system automation.
  • Knowledge of tubing standards and fittings (e.g., Swagelok, AN/MS).
  • Experience with spacecraft integration and mechanical design for space environments.
