Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and modify mechanical system, component, and installation designs for aerospace equipment.
  • Create detailed designs, assembly layouts, solid models, and technical drawings using CATIA and other CAD tools.
  • Perform and document structural, finite element, verification, and validation analyses for mechanical systems and components.
  • Lead investigations of technical, operational, quality, and product lifecycle issues, including root cause analysis of complex design non-conformances.
  • Provide technical support to production, review drawings and layouts, and prepare engineering and test reports.
  • Direct cross-functional activities and mentor other engineers while supporting design reviews, proposals, and new business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and at least 12 years of relevant design, analysis, or development experience.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing, mechanical and electromechanical components, mechanisms, metallic materials, fabrication processes, and large structures.
  • Proficiency in CATIA or comparable CAD tools, detailed and assembly drawings, ASME Y14.100, GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and stack-up analysis.
  • Ability to perform hand calculations and finite element analysis, select aerospace materials and processes, and conduct measurement and inspection activities.
  • Proficiency with AS9100 and ITAR standards and compliance requirements.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, proof of education, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. required. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PDM Smart Team, 3D printing in PLA, composite, or metal, airborne weapon systems, or weapon carriage equipment.
  • Experience preparing technical, engineering, and test reports.
