Manufacturing Engineer IV (Aerospace): Developing and improving manufacturing plans, tooling, and processes for complex metallic and electromechanical aerospace components with an accent on manufacturability, quality, and production efficiency. Focus on troubleshooting machining and assembly problems, designing fixtures and jigs, applying Lean Manufacturing, and completing root-cause and corrective-action analysis.

Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

  • Review engineering requirements and drawings for manufacturability and create manufacturing plans and bills of material.
  • Troubleshoot machining, assembly, and production-process issues while maintaining product quality, integrity, and certification requirements.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost, and cycle times through new processes, materials, methods, equipment, and facilities.
  • Design and deploy tooling, fixtures, jigs, and other production aids for complex metallic and electromechanical components.
  • Support production, prepare engineering changes, perform root-cause and corrective-action analysis, and improve product designs for manufacturability.
  • Coordinate with production personnel, equipment vendors, suppliers, and external resources on process development and improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 15 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, machining complex metallic components, electromechanical assemblies, and CNC or NC machine programming.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, procedures, GD&T, MIL-STD documents, and ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of materials and metals processing, including heat treatment and aerospace coatings, as well as measurement and inspection processes.
  • Experience creating manufacturing plans, designing assembly tooling, writing engineering reports, and applying process improvement and cost-reduction methods.
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR requirements: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee. Must be able to speak, read, and write English and lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

  • CAD experience with CATIA or Pro/ENGINEER.
  • Experience working with Microsoft products.
