Medical Assistant II - Certified (Medical Care)

Location: Tewksbury Family Health, 1574 Main Street, Suite 200, Tewksbury, Massachusetts 01876; may cover satellite locations

Salary: $24.00–$28.80 per hour

What you will do

• Manage patient flow, room utilization, provider communication, and clinic resources.
• Prepare patients, examination rooms, and medical records for provider visits.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and patient data.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, procedures, immunizations, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Support referrals, prior authorizations, diagnostic and surgical scheduling, billing documentation, and electronic medical record updates.
• Maintain supplies, perform quality and safety checks, provide administrative support, and train new medical assistants and students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain it within three months.
• At least two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for documentation and message taking.
• Knowledge of patient safety, universal precautions, patient handling, HIPAA confidentiality, electronic medical records, and basic computer applications.

Nice to have

• Three years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Work in an outpatient family health environment serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
