Medical Assistant/X-Ray

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; no nights or weekends.

What you will do

• Greet patients and perform registration, scheduling, referral management, phone support, and other administrative duties in the electronic medical record.
• Measure and document vital signs, collect blood and urine samples as needed, and clean and disinfect exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and perform routine X-ray examinations within the scope of a limited licensed X-ray technician in Tennessee.
• Operate radiographic equipment, position patients, obtain clear images, send images to providers, and follow radiation protection and infection control procedures.
• Maintain patient records, logs, reports, quality-control checks, dosimetry documentation, and compliance with clinical and state protocols.
• Clean and maintain radiographic equipment, identify servicing needs, and order radiographic supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus medical assistant certification, an accredited medical assistant program, relevant experience or training, EMT or military medic training, or an approved internship or externship.
• Completion of an accredited Limited License X-ray course and current state license or certification for Tennessee.
• Limited License Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography examination in the state of practice.
• Current BLS and CPR certification.
• Current healthcare records and documentation of required immunizations, including hepatitis B and tuberculosis requirements.
• At least one year of recent medical-setting experience is strongly preferred.
