Engineering Technician (HVAC)

Location: Onsite at a facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States; approximately 75% of the role is on the production floor, with 10% travel required.

Pay range: $51,400.00–$79,200.00 annually.

What you will do

• Support senior technicians and engineers with ergonomic, safety, quality, and manufacturing-process improvements on the production line.
• Work with operators and production teams to develop standard work methods and improve safety, quality, and cycle time.
• Analyze tooling performance, establish data-acquisition methods, and use statistical analysis to validate improvements.
• Create engineering change requests to address build issues and improve product quality and manufacturability.
• Test, record, and troubleshoot air-conditioning systems, including basic failure analysis and detailed test procedures.
• Assemble, disassemble, and fabricate customized mechanical parts, structures, test stands, and fixtures.

Requirements

• Technical diploma and three years of engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
• Ability to travel 10% and safely operate equipment, machinery, or vehicles when required.
• Ability to follow engineering procedures, safety rules, standards, specifications, and written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical problems.
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, driving, bending, kneeling, and other physical activities, including occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree with three years of engineering experience or equivalent experience.
• EPA Section 608 certification for stationary refrigeration and air conditioning.
• HVAC and mechanical knowledge, air-conditioning brazing and troubleshooting experience, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Rigging, crane, forklift, power-tool, machining, drafting, or 2D/3D AutoCAD experience.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
