Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: On-site in San Jose, California, USA. Travel up to 40%, mainly to local client sites.

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Develop HVAC system designs based on project scopes and client RFPs.
• Engineer, evaluate, and plan mechanical systems for multiple market types.
• Conduct existing-building surveys and document HVAC systems.
• Perform load and energy calculations, select equipment, and prepare design documents, reports, and studies.
• Write and edit project specifications and complete code compliance research.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines, provide construction administration, and perform design QA/QC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit, plus proficiency with Autodesk software and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate across disciplines, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to travel to client sites.

Nice to have

• Registration as an EIT or PE.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
