Chief Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States; onsite support for a DoD space operations effort

What you will do

• Serve as the lead technical authority for systems engineering activities and align execution with program and Government requirements.
• Develop system architectures, designs, integration plans, and sustainment approaches for space ground systems.
• Lead system-level trade studies and Analyses of Alternatives to support design and acquisition decisions.
• Coordinate SRR, PDR, CDR, and other design reviews while establishing and maintaining technical baselines.
• Drive MBSE practices, tools, documentation standards, requirements management, and configuration control.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and Government stakeholders while providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with SAP eligibility required.
• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 12 years of systems engineering experience with space ground systems, including integration and sustainment.
• Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools including Cameo/MagicDraw, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience leading design reviews, trade studies, and Analyses of Alternatives for complex systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills for collaboration with technical teams and Government stakeholders.

Nice to have

• INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
• Advanced degree in a related technical field.
