TL;DR
Systems Engineer III - Aerospace (Missile Defense/MBSE): Leading requirements development, verification planning, risk management, and MBSE efforts for MDA-aligned missile defense programs with an accent on system-level engineering, traceability, and stakeholder coordination. Focus on developing SysML models, planning verification events, managing technical risks, and supporting formal design reviews in a mission-critical defense environment.

Location: Folsom, California or Reno, Nevada; onsite role. Applicants must be a U.S. Person and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Salary: $103,100–$151,400 USD in California; $97,945–$143,830 USD in Nevada.

What you will do

  • Lead system, subsystem, and interface requirements development, traceability, and compliance with MDA standards.
  • Develop verification plans, procedures, and compliance matrices, and support reviews, inspections, and tests.
  • Assess technical risks, maintain mitigation plans, and track risk posture across the program.
  • Develop and maintain MBSE artifacts using SysML and Cameo/MagicDraw.
  • Coordinate with propulsion, software, hardware, test, GNC, quality, safety, customer, and supplier stakeholders.
  • Support configuration management, formal design reviews, technical planning, scheduling, and engineering deliverables.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of systems engineering experience in DoD, aerospace, or missile defense programs.
  • Experience with requirements development, verification planning, risk management, MDA processes, technical reviews, and CDRL development.
  • Hands-on MBSE and SysML modeling experience using Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.
  • Proficiency with DOORS or an equivalent requirements management tool.
  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • U.S. Person status, eligibility for required export authorizations, and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in systems engineering or a related discipline.
  • DoDAF or similar systems architecture framework experience.
  • INCOSE ASEP/CSEP certification, Earned Value Management, or scheduling tools experience.
  • Experience supporting SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR reviews for MDA or equivalent defense programs.
