Principal Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; hybrid environment with occasional travel

What you will do

• Lead requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering activities.
• Guide system and decision analysis, technical planning, and technical risk management.
• Manage critical project components and influence overall project direction.
• Develop and monitor system architectures, designs, technical performance, and lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary design and development teams, providing technical leadership and mentoring senior engineers.
• Support the development of next-generation airborne command-post systems for the SAOC mission.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 14+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, including extensive systems engineering leadership.
• Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Advanced knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation and allocation, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and V&V principles.
• Experience applying systems engineering to software-based solutions, including software architecture and systems integration.
• Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance with eligibility to obtain Top Secret / Top Secret with SCI clearance, and U.S. citizenship, are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI, machine learning, cloud computing, real-time operating systems, or embedded systems.
• Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, INCOSE standards, or CSEP certification.
• Aerospace and defense experience, mission system architecture experience, and experience with baseline definition and trade studies.
• Experience with Technical Performance Measurements, Agile methodologies, Scrum Master certification, Open Mission System messaging, or Universal Command and Control Interface standards.
