Mechanic 1 (Heavy Equipment)

What you will do

• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair road, off-road, and terminal equipment used in bulk-material handling.
• Dismantle and repair diesel and gas engines, electric motors, generators, hydraulic and pneumatic attachments, control systems, and fuel and brake systems.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including cranes, loaders, dozers, vehicles, and cable-handling devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, safety inspections, equipment testing, and facility upkeep.
• Operate tools and equipment such as welders, cutting torches, forklifts, electric meters, and power tools.
• Respond to emergency call-outs, document completed work, and address safety and environmental concerns in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience handling flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems safely.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to use a company-provided mobile radio.
• Basic math, recordkeeping, communication, teamwork, and ability to follow supervision and safety procedures.
• Successful background check, post-offer screening, and random drug screens.
• Ability to work onsite in Armorel, Arkansas, across multiple nearby berths, and during all shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.

Nice to have

• Experience repairing construction or agricultural equipment.
• Trade or vocational training in automotive, diesel, or truck mechanics.
