What you will do
- Lead and direct a group of technicians performing heavy equipment, truck, chassis, and refuse body repairs.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, braking, drivetrain, suspension, steering, engine, heating, and air-conditioning issues.
- Schedule repair and maintenance work to support safe, timely operations and reduce shop downtime.
- Inspect third-party repairs for compliance with company safety procedures and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Coach and mentor technicians on diagnostic and repair techniques while acting as Maintenance Supervisor when needed.
- Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication and use electronic tools to identify equipment malfunctions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- Ability to independently inspect and repair relevant truck or automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, suspensions, steering, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to comply with OSHA HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, fire protection, company safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Nice to have
- At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience.
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications T1–T8.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License.
- At least 3 years of experience with OSHA HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, and fire protection requirements.
