Fleet Mechanic Technician B (Diesel and Heavy-Duty Trucks)

Location: Browns Summit, NC, USA; onsite fleet maintenance role

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and fleet equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and hydraulic brake systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, basic tire replacement and rotation, inspections, welding, and fabrication.
• Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions and restore equipment to safe operation.
• Provide road service when necessary and complete required company training programs.

Requirements

• At least one year of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive or technical school within the next three months.
• Knowledge of maintenance for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, including Class 1–5 and Class 7–8 vehicles, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to perform basic inspections of suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic understanding of work-order labor time standards.

Nice to have

• ASE certifications T1–T8.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
