Mechanic Heavy Equipment (Traveling)

Location: Woodward, Oklahoma; other potential locations include Woodward, OK, Amarillo, TX, and Canadian, TX. Extensive travel to job sites within the designated seniority region and states is required. Relocation assistance is not currently available.

Salary: $9,415.56 per month; approximate annual earnings range from $104,714 to $136,000 depending on hours worked and other factors.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair BNSF's fleet of roadway maintenance equipment.
• Disassemble, modify, manufacture, overhaul, and troubleshoot heavy equipment systems.
• Repair hydraulic, pneumatic, gasoline, diesel, driveline, and final or planetary drive components.
• Operate heavy equipment and use manual, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, welders, and cutting torches.
• Perform work in a safety-sensitive environment involving extreme weather, uneven surfaces, loud noise, fumes, and moving machinery.
• Travel to assigned job sites and attend company-paid classroom and on-the-job training, including travel to the BNSF Training Center.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the United States without BNSF sponsorship or assistance in obtaining or maintaining employment authorization.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to work the required Monday-to-Friday 10-hour shifts, including possible nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, alternating start times, and on-call assignments.
• Must have or obtain within the first 60 days a valid Class B CDL minimum, Class A when required, with air-brake endorsements.
• At least two years of verifiable mechanical work experience or training.
• At least one year of experience with gasoline and diesel engines on large industrial equipment, three months with electrical or gas welding, and one year with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams, and schematics.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally, climb ladders, work at heights, distinguish required colors and signals, and communicate in English.
