Senior Software Test Automation Engineer

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States; at least four days per week at the hirify.global Center. Travel may include up to 10% domestic or international travel. Relocation may be authorized.

Salary: $145,676–$178,049 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay where eligible.

What you will do

• Design, code, and maintain automated tests for server-side software components, APIs, services, and integrations.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools.
• Apply security practices, including encryption and secure communications, in system design and implementation.
• Troubleshoot and optimize software performance, reliability, and interoperability across hardware and software interfaces.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track defects with development teams.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to engineering best practices on a cross-functional team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least seven years of software development experience, including coding automated tests for server-side or backend systems.
• Experience testing APIs, services, databases, and distributed software systems.
• Experience with C/C++ and embedded applications.
• Working knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as CIP, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related technical field.
• Understanding of low-latency, time-critical network communications over Wi-Fi.
• Experience working across a broad technology stack and coordinating with external development resources.
• Proficiency with AI software development tools.
