Senior Manager, Software Engineering (System Test)

Location: Hybrid role based onsite in the Holtsville, New York office at least 3 days per week

Salary: $156,960–$235,440 annual, plus target annual cash incentive of 20% of base pay

What you will do

• Define the System Test vision, strategy, operating model, standards, roadmaps, and measurable objectives.
• Lead, coach, and develop globally distributed System Test managers and engineers, including succession planning and capability building.
• Establish risk-based test strategies covering requirements traceability, environments, test data, automation, and release criteria.
• Direct manual and automated system, integration, acceptance, regression, functional, browser, mobile, API, cellular, wireless, field, reliability, and performance validation.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, DevOps, Security, and other stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, quality risks, and release decisions.
• Develop scalable automation and responsible AI-enabled testing practices to improve coverage, efficiency, defect analysis, analytics, and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years managing managers and technical teams.
• Experience leading global or geographically distributed technical teams and system test strategy for complex software, hardware, or integrated enterprise products.
• Strong understanding of automated testing, test management, defect management, Agile development, CI/CD, and release management.
• Strong knowledge of system, integration, regression, acceptance, functional, API, mobile, browser, cellular, wireless, field, reliability, and performance testing.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Windows, and Linux environments, with strong analytical, communication, resource, budget, schedule, and vendor-management skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related technical or business discipline.
• Experience with enterprise mobility, connected devices, embedded systems, or integrated hardware and software solutions.
• Knowledge of cellular technologies, protocols, networks, interoperability, and device validation.
• Experience implementing AI or GenAI, large language models, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, predictive analytics, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Experience scaling intelligent test automation, continuous testing, quality analytics, or engineering modernization initiatives.
