Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Use test harnesses to accelerate software and firmware security verification for reverse engineering and vulnerability research.
• Automate target-device execution, bench-instrument control, and continuous software test suites.
• Build rapid, reproducible test setups using hardware-in-the-loop environments and automated benches.
• Validate software behavior, system execution states, and patch deployment with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing or using automated test harnesses, hardware-in-the-loop setups, or test bench environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C, C++, or Rust.
• Experience establishing CI pipelines with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins, and using Docker-based execution infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG, and embedded bus monitoring.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and ability to provide daily on-site support in Linthicum, Maryland are required.

Nice to have

• Experience triaging, validating, and remediating vulnerabilities detected by artificial intelligence.
• Experience with QEMU, Docker, target emulation, and virtualization for hybrid physical and virtual testbeds.
• Experience integrating power supplies, digital relays, and logic analyzers into continuous test pipelines.
• Understanding of patch verification, firmware execution monitoring, and automated test suite creation.
