Electrical Engineer IV (Substation Engineering)

Salary: USD $117,998.40–$150,000 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Serve as an independent Quality Control Engineer for station engineering physical design projects.
• Review preliminary and detailed design packages, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and system safety and performance.
• Evaluate physical substation systems, including conduit plans, lightning protection, electrical layouts, grounding, schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnections, cable schedules, and bills of materials.
• Provide constructive technical feedback and participate in collaborative design review meetings.
• Support design teams with engineering questions and coordinate interdisciplinary constructability and project requirements.
• Share industry and client-specific knowledge and assist with the development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.

Requirements

• At least eight years of relevant experience in the designated engineering field.
• Experience serving as a project lead on station engineering physical design projects.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of station engineering project schedules, timelines, and applicable national and local standards, including ANSI/IEEE, the National Electrical Safety Code, ASTM, and AIC.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, record-keeping, and quality-control skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software such as Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. A Professional Engineering License is preferred.
