TL;DR
Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and integrating high-performance hydraulic and electromechanical flight control systems with an accent on requirements development, modeling, verification, and validation. Focus on building real-time system models, creating automated test scripts and qualification procedures, and investigating integration anomalies in flight-critical systems.

Location: Hybrid in Torrance, California, United States; travel 5–10% to other hirify.global and customer sites, primarily in the United States.

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Develop, integrate, and verify complex hydraulic and electromechanical control systems.
  • Coordinate design discussions across multidisciplinary engineering teams, hirify.global sites, and external customers.
  • Create and communicate system design requirements and define verification and validation approaches.
  • Develop verification plans, verification cross-reference matrices, test plans, and qualification procedures.
  • Integrate real-time system models for system- and unit-level test environments.
  • Create automated test scripts, document test results, and support integration testing and anomaly investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of professional engineering experience.
  • Experience with requirements management, integration and testing, modeling and simulation, and control-system design and verification.
  • Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace industry experience and familiarity with aircraft flight-control systems.
  • Experience with fault-management design, architecture development, and safety-critical hardware and software.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and dSpace hardware for real-time modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python.
