Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

What you will do

• Serve as the university's senior HR executive and strategic advisor to the Vice President for Finance & Administration/Chief Financial Officer.
• Lead enterprise-wide workforce planning, organizational design, change management, executive coaching, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee compensation strategy, market salary studies, internal equity reviews, classification, recruitment incentives, and retention programs.
• Strengthen recruiting, employer branding, candidate experience, talent pipelines, workforce forecasting, and recruitment performance metrics.
• Lead HRIS modernization, workflow automation, digital HR processes, dashboards, executive metrics, and appropriate AI-assisted HR technology adoption.
• Develop a workforce strategic plan and advance succession planning, leadership development, HR service quality, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible HR leadership experience.
• At least 5 years leading professional HR staff.
• Experience in organizational development, compensation programs, organizational change, and advising executive leadership.
• Strategic leadership, executive communication, data analytics, negotiation, conflict resolution, financial acumen, and organizational development skills.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.

Nice to have

• Master's degree and higher education experience.
• Texas public higher education or Texas A&M University System experience.
• HRCI, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification.
• Experience leading HR transformation, implementing HR technology, or conducting compensation studies.
