Director, HR Business Partner

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid role with 3 days per week in the Chicago office; travel required up to 30%

What you will do

• Lead the people agenda for aligned North American business units and advise senior business leaders on organizational and people strategy.
• Drive organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent management, performance management, and skills development.
• Diagnose organizational performance gaps and implement solutions through redesign, process change, coaching, and training.
• Use retention, employee experience, and business performance metrics to recommend systemic improvements.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Centers of Excellence to develop scalable recruiting and talent initiatives.
• Lead, coach, and develop HR Business Partners and other HR team members while supporting change adoption across the business.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR people leadership experience.
• Broad HR business leadership experience covering change management, organizational development, talent management, performance management, compensation, and workforce management.
• Strong organizational development background and experience in complex, matrixed, and global environments.
• Experience with Workday HRIS and Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, identify trends, influence senior leaders, and manage multiple complex projects.
• Ability to work from the Chicago office 3 days per week and travel up to 30%.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• Experience working in a private equity environment.
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
• Experience championing AI-enabled productivity tools, automation, digital transformation, or process improvement.
