Senior Project Manager - Solid Waste Engineering

Location: Cary, North Carolina; the position may also report to locations in Virginia, South Carolina, or North Carolina, with candidates in Georgia or West Virginia considered.

Salary: USD $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

• Manage multiple solid waste engineering projects, clients, and project teams.
• Oversee landfill, transfer station, materials recovery facility, composting facility, and recycling center design and construction.
• Design and manage landfill gas collection and control systems, leachate systems, and treatment solutions.
• Lead permitting, capacity analysis, financial assurance, stormwater design, and wetland-related work.
• Support landfill operations, closure and post-closure care, odor mitigation, air monitoring, and facility troubleshooting.
• Develop renewable energy and waste-to-energy systems, including solar, wind, anaerobic digestion, and biogas solutions.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of landfill design and project management experience required.
• Professional Engineer license in Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina preferred, or ability to obtain one within six months.
• Technical management, client-facing, business development, and staff management experience.
• Experience managing staff using AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, technical, and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to mentor and train junior staff.
