What you will do
- Lead environmental planning and NEPA work for complex energy, mining, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
- Act as a client-facing technical leader and coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies.
- Prepare environmental documentation, including environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, initial studies, categorical exclusions, exemptions, and negative declarations.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and permitting applications, including right-of-way, special use, state siting, and county land use permits.
- Prepare proposals, support business development, and represent the firm at industry events.
- Mentor junior and mid-level staff and provide staff management.
Requirements
- 15+ years of environmental planning experience in mining, energy, and/or transportation projects.
- Experience leading environmental planning projects, developing scopes of work, and guiding clients and agencies through compliance and permitting processes.
- Experience with state and local permitting in one or more of AZ, CO, ID, KS, NE, ND, NM, NV, MT, OR, SD, UT, WA, or WY.
- Experience managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, particularly for transportation and energy projects.
- Strong technical and scientific report writing, analytical reasoning, communication, and project management skills; writing samples will be requested.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work effectively during demanding client engagements.
