Cost Accountant III, IV or Senior

Location: Hybrid role with three days per week in the office at offices in Portland, Medford, Fargo, Burlington, Vancouver, Renton, Boise, Lewiston, or Salt Lake City. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of their selected office.

Expected annual hiring ranges: Accountant III $59,837.48–$85,100; Accountant IV $73,231.73–$103,500; Senior Accountant I $81,679.31–$113,900, depending on location and level. Bonus targets range from 5% to 10%.

What you will do

• Prepare monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and sections of GAAP and SAP financial statements.
• Gather, validate, and summarize accounting and statistical data and prepare ad hoc analyses.
• Maintain cost allocation tables and analyze administrative costs, budgets, variances, and cost trends.
• Coordinate with departments and internal and external auditors to resolve discrepancies and explain unusual transactions.
• Research accounting and auditing standards, present analyses, and support budgeting and re-forecasting.
• Support financial system updates, policy development, projects, training, and mentoring, with expanded leadership responsibilities at higher levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant experience: 3–5 years for Accountant III, 4+ years for Accountant IV, or 6+ years for Senior Accountant I.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and applicable guidance, including GAAP, SAP, CAS, FAR, and FEHBAR where relevant.
• Analytical thinking, sound judgment, problem-solving ability, organization, communication, and effective teamwork.
• Higher levels require experience with financial analysis, contract administration, forecasting, internal controls, treasury management, leadership, training, and complex projects.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred; strong proficiency with relevant technology and Excel is expected for the senior level.
