Internal Ops Budgets/Fin Analyst III (Financial Planning)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

Base pay: $55,900–$123,500 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and monitor budget and expense data for insurance company operating expenses.
• Update and create financial models, cost estimates, and benefit analyses for business cases.
• Support annual SG&A budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Collaborate with business leaders to gather inputs, analyze financial data, and recommend financial targets and resource allocation.
• Produce financial reports covering budget-versus-actual performance, variance analysis, staffing, and financial metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Experience in corporate financial reporting and budgeting or IT operational functions in IT financials.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Ariba, ITAM, ISAM, Clarity, eBudget, or a comparable tool, including SSD or ITG budget preparation.
• Customer service, vendor relationship management, communication, presentation, organizational, and analytical skills.
• PC proficiency with Word, Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint, along with strong attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial modeling, business-case cost estimation, forecasting, KPI dashboards, and ROI models.
• Experience managing ad hoc projects in a heavily matrixed environment.
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP, EPBCS, Hyperion, Tableau, Alteryx, and SQL.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or government.
