TL;DR
Aerospace Program Manager (Aerospace Product Development): Leading cross-functional product development programs from customer proposal through qualification, certification, and transition to production with an accent on scope, cost, schedule, risk, and customer coordination. Focus on managing Integrated Product Teams, coordinating supply chain and operations, and driving production readiness for aerospace systems and components.

Location: Elyria, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Elyria facility.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense markets, including pumping technology and thermal management solutions.

What you will do

  • Lead cross-functional business, technical, and operations teams throughout product development programs.
  • Review customer proposals and change requests, coordinate statements of work, technical compliance, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Create and maintain detailed program plans, resource-loaded schedules, milestones, deliverables, and program metrics.
  • Lead Integrated Product Teams and coordinate design reviews, supply chain activities, operations, and new product introduction.
  • Manage program scope, costs, issues, risks, customer communications, and technical and program progress reviews.
  • Facilitate qualification, certification compliance, production readiness reviews, and transition from engineering development to full-scale production.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in program management or a related project management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
  • Expertise in program management philosophies and processes, with sufficient technical aptitude to understand product design and production processes.
  • Strong leadership, planning, organization, decision-making, customer service, teamwork, and business acumen skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other PC-based office tools.
  • Access to controlled data or information may be required; only US Persons will be considered for positions requiring such access under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical industries.
  • Technical field experience, preferably in aerospace.
  • MBA or comparable advanced management degree.
  • Formal program or systems management training, such as PMI or equivalent.
  • Experience with engineering product development, aerospace product development, and certification processes.
