Staff Mission Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annual base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Serve as the senior customer contact throughout the satellite bus development and delivery lifecycle.
• Lead complex, high-priority, and strategically important missions across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, Mission Services, and other functions.
• Manage integrated mission schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Identify and mitigate mission-level risks, technical challenges, and execution roadblocks.
• Translate complex technical and programmatic information into clear customer communications and decisions.
• Improve mission management processes and mentor other Mission Managers.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in technical program, project, mission, or systems management, preferably in space, aerospace, or defense.
• Experience independently leading complex technical programs and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Strong understanding of satellite technology, spacecraft systems, and the space industry.
• PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification is required.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Advanced degree.
