Sequencing R&D Technician (Genomics)

Location: Louisville, KY, USA; onsite at 12701 Plantside Drive. Candidates must live within a commutable distance.

Salary: $22.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Process human, plant, seed, animal, bacterial, fungal, and probiotic samples for R&D projects.
• Perform DNA and RNA extraction and quantification, gel electrophoresis, ELISA, TaqMan, KASP, and RT-PCR workflows.
• Run and optimize wet-lab next-generation sequencing and tGBS library preparation workflows.
• Complete laboratory documentation, records, ISO documentation, training records, and sample logs.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, labware, supplies, and sample storage areas.
• Communicate results and challenges while supporting quality, safety, sample disposal, and routine laboratory operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in an industry laboratory.
• Familiarity with sequencing, library preparation, RT-PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction is preferred.
• Accurate execution of written and verbal instructions, strong organization, and careful recordkeeping.
• Commitment to laboratory safety, quality standards, teamwork, and clear communication.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
