Location: Newark, CA, United States; work is performed in office settings. The role requires approximately 10% travel and work authorization in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $89,300–$146,900 per year.

hirify.global develops tools for life sciences research and clinical diagnostics, while Advanced Cell Diagnostics develops molecular pathology and tissue-based diagnostic solutions using RNAscope® technology.

What you will do

  • Design made-to-order RNAscope probes for target sequences using proprietary software.
  • Review New Probe Requests and provide technical guidance on probe design, sequence specificity, and submission accuracy.
  • Use Linux command-line tools, including BLAST and BLAT, for sequence alignment and probe selection.
  • Provide probe product training, troubleshooting, scientific consultation, and technical support to customers by phone and email.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, and R&D teams on customer needs, product development, and product introductions.
  • Monitor customer support queues and contribute to the team knowledgebase and scientific product updates.

Requirements

  • PhD with 4+ years of research experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in biotech or biopharma R&D and 2+ years of experience with Linux and programming languages such as Python or Perl.
  • In-depth knowledge of genes, sequences, and RNA biology, with experience using biological databases, bioinformatics software, and multiple sequence alignment tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with next-generation sequencing platforms or genomic, epigenomic, or transcriptomic sequencing tools.
  • Experience with experimental design, cell and molecular techniques, probe design across multiple species, and troubleshooting complex biological assays.
  • Strong scientific communication, presentation, teaching, customer-facing, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
