Research Technician II (Genomics)

Hiring pay range: $22.88–$28.61 per hour

What you will do

• Perform mouse handling, husbandry coordination, colony tracking, genotyping, tissue dissection, tissue collection, and molecular analysis.
• Support CRISPR-based perturbation experiments, including reagent preparation, viral and vector workflows, sample collection, and genomic analysis.
• Conduct DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning, and sequencing-sample preparation.
• Support single-cell genomics workflows, including nuclei and cell preparation, quality control, library preparation, and sequencing submissions.
• Maintain mammalian cell cultures using sterile technique, including passaging, transfection and transduction support, and cell-health monitoring.
• Record and analyze experimental results, troubleshoot routine issues, maintain inventories and equipment, and coordinate sample tracking and laboratory compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences required; candidates with master’s degrees are welcome.
• 2–4 years of relevant research experience in an academic laboratory environment.
• Experience with mouse handling or related animal research procedures, including colony management, tissue collection, or genotyping.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques, mammalian cell culture, sterile technique, transfection, viral transduction, or cell-based assays.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols, maintain accurate records, work with minimal supervision, and troubleshoot routine experimental issues.
• Willingness to work with mouse models and comply with institutional animal research, biosafety, laboratory safety, and training requirements.
