Software Engineer II - Services (AWS)

Location: Remote - US; qualified candidates must reside in states where hirify.global or one of its subsidiaries has an established physical presence.

Salary: $96,300–$154,400 annual base salary, plus eligibility for up to 10% annual incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Participate in technical design sessions and document technical solutions.
• Develop microservices using AWS serverless architecture and build REST and event-based services.
• Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and other technical teams in an Agile environment.
• Improve system efficiency, flexibility, performance, availability, and customer trust.
• Provide technical direction to junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Support legacy code while delivering future-state systems and integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–8 years of hands-on software development experience with NodeJS and Python.
• Experience designing and implementing REST and event-based services with AWS, including Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, SQS, SNS, EC2, and STS.
• Experience developing and deploying APIs, supporting SaaS or cloud software, and integrating with internal systems.
• Experience with non-relational and relational databases, including DynamoDB and RDS, as well as CloudFormation templates.
• Strong communication skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and experience working in Agile development environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in lending or financial services.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification.
• Experience with Scrum, SAFe, and test-driven development.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management about requirements, product features, technical designs, and strategy.
