AWS API Engineer

Location: Hanover, NJ, with 3 days per week onsite; New York is also listed in the conditions.

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 base compensation annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs using AWS services.
• Build and deploy APIs with Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and microservices architecture.
• Develop backend services using Python, Node.js, Java, or similar languages.
• Integrate APIs with DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SNS/SQS, and Step Functions.
• Implement authentication, authorization, security, throttling, logging, tracing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with front-end, DevOps, and product teams while writing reusable, testable, and documented code.

Requirements

• Experience with AWS API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and CloudWatch.
• Backend development experience with Python, Node.js, Java, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of API tools such as Postman, Swagger, or OpenAPI.
• Experience implementing CI/CD with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CodeBuild.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ability to work onsite in Hanover, New Jersey three days per week.
