Engineer, Asset Strategy & Regulatory Compliance (Hybrid Schedule)

Location: Hartford, CT; hybrid schedule

Salary: $100,490–$111,660 annual salary, plus potential incentive

What you will do

• Develop operational strategies for transmission and substation assets using lifecycle planning, risk analysis, and asset condition data.
• Analyze transmission and substation reliability, establish performance goals, prepare reports, and develop improvement strategies.
• Support the development and prioritization of one-year and five-year transmission and substation capital budgets and O&M programs.
• Identify project scopes, schedules, and priorities in collaboration with Transmission Planning, Operations, and other transmission functions.
• Lead transmission and substation benchmarking efforts, identify industry best practices, and develop asset management tools and procedures.
• Maintain asset databases and communicate asset management strategies internally and with external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Three to five years of professional experience, with transmission experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of transmission and substation power system planning, engineering, maintenance, and operations.
• Understanding of the federal and New England regulatory environment, financial documents, and industry data analysis.
• Strong communication, presentation, business analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in Hartford, CT, respond to emergency restoration assignments, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

• Experience in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electric utility industry.
• Experience managing Microsoft Access or Excel databases and associated interfaces using Visual Basic, SQL, or similar programming.
• Experience with CASCADE and progress toward a master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Economics.
