Senior Data Platform Engineer / SDE (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in the office at offices in Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, or Fargo. Candidates must live within commuting distance of one of these locations or be willing to relocate.

Expected hiring range: $114,000–$143,000 in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho; $101,000–$134,000 in North Dakota. Full salary ranges extend to $186,000 and $167,000 respectively, with a 20% bonus target for Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor Data Engineers while establishing engineering standards and best practices.
• Design, build, tune, and own scalable Snowflake ELT pipelines, data models, and platform artifacts.
• Optimize query performance, compute sizing, workload isolation, and platform costs.
• Partner with analytics, product, governance, QA, and business teams to deliver observable, high-quality data solutions.
• Contribute to platform strategy, risk assessments, DataOps, CI/CD, and AI tool adoption.
• Ensure data quality, testing, documentation, knowledge sharing, and effective delivery of complex work.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering experience, including senior or technical lead experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, SQL, SQL/Python stored procedures, dbt or similar ETL tools, ELT/ETL design patterns, and Airflow or comparable orchestration.
• Experience with data modeling, pipeline design, performance optimization, data profiling, integration, and migration.
• Knowledge of DataOps, CI/CD, semantic layers, metadata management, observability, streaming, and AI or agentic enablement.
• Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and enterprise platform ownership.
• College degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience; relevant health care experience may substitute for a degree.

Nice to have

• Experience in health care or complex enterprise data environments.
• DevOps/DataOps proficiency.
• Experience with budgeting, cost management, and cross-team initiatives.
